Ruby J. Brown, 74, of Freeport, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at her home.
Born October 18, 1935 in Freeport she was the daughter of Walter and Thelma (Melester) Shenberger. She married Delon Brown in 1953 and he died in 1994.
Ruby was the head housekeeper at Parkview Home for several years.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the Freeport Moose Lodge.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce (Mark) Rabey; her son, Larry A. (Lesli) Brown; 3 brothers, Walter (Barbara) Shenberger, Willard (Rita) Shenberger, and Sheldon (Sharon) Shenberger all of Freeport; her sister, Evelyn (Louis) Taggart of Forreston; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and step brothers.
Funeral service will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend John Hollis of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for First Church of the Nazarene.
