Rueben A. Church, 73, of Davis, died Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
Born March 10, 1942 in Nettleton, Arkansas he was the son of Frank and Lillian (Dhority) Church. He married Judith Florence January 24, 1975.
Rueben worked for Warner Lampert and then in 1983 he established D&R Heating and Cooling.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He never missed his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid gardener, and loved to take is wife to the dog track.
Surviving are his wife, Judith of Davis; his children, Jeff (Sheila) Knight of Cherry Valley, Bill (Duree Gyllenhaal) Knight of Glenview, and Mary (Rod) Hagemann of Davis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Faith Community Church in Davis. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service at 1 p.m. at Faith Community Church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established
