Freeport- Russell F. Dorsey, 75, of Freeport, died Monday June 30, 2003, at his home.
Born June 7, 1928 in Freeport he was the son of Arthur and Elma (Sensanbaugh) Dorsey. He married Hazel L. Miller February 5, 1955 in Rockford.
A 1948 graduate of Freeport Senior High School he was an Army Korean Conflict veteran.
He was a Gauge Designer at Honeywell Micro Switch for 35 years.
His memberships include Bethany United Church of Christ (where he served as church custodian for 36 years and was a past board member), member and past board member of F.A.C.C., and member and current board member of Habitat for Humanity.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel of Freeport; one son, Stephen R. Dorsey of Rockford; two daughters, Janelle K. (Marvin) Hupp of Sandwich; Joslyn S. (William) Gullickson of Freeport; one sister, Priscilla Ludwig of Lanark; three grandchildren, Elisabeth and Sarah Hupp and Alex Gullickson.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Shelly Anne; two brothers, Howard and Lawrence.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany United Church of Christ with Reverend Ward Malloy officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ.
