Freeport - Ruth Ann Clark, 61, of Freeport, died Friday, September 1, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born June 3, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa she was the daughter of Fay and Gertrude (Huggins) Landis. She married Perry Clark March 19, 1966.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a LPN working at the Stephenson Nursing Center for 28 years. Working at the center was more than a job for Ruth. She had a passion for helping people. The residents and staff at the center were like family to her.
An accomplished seamstress and quilter, Ruth hand crafted doll clothing, wedding dresses, and made dresses for her granddaughters.
Surviving is her husband, Perry of Freeport; her mother, Gertrude Landis of Morrison; one son, Rick (Deb) Clark of Hancock, Wisconsin; one daughter, Alena (William Feary) Schaney of Freeport; 4 grandchildren, Maranda Schaney, Cole and Camryn Clark, and Hayley Feary; one sister, Naomi (James) Westerhof of Fulton; one brother, Ray (Marjie) Landis of Davison, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fay Landis; one son, Paul; one daughter, Sarah; and one grandchild, Morgan.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend John Hollis officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene.
A memorial has been established in her name.
