Martinsburg, West Virginia: Ruth A. McDonald 86, a longtime Freeport resident and most recently of Martinsburg, WV. died Tuesday morning June 20, 2006 at City Hospital in Martinsburg of natural causes after an extended illness. Born January 29, 1920 in Orangeville she was the daughter of Gustav and Dora (Jordan) Trester. On October 5, 1953 she married Paul McDonald in Princeton, IL. Ruth was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and was a graduate of Freeport Senior High School. Surviving are her son John of Martinsburg, W. Virginia, one sister; Helen (Clifford) Pontnack of Freeport, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, two brothers and two sisters. A funeral service and burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Chapel of Peace in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. With the Reverend Douglas Hall officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name for the Freeport Eastern Star.
