Ruth I Spangler, 89, of Freeport, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born September 3, 1919 in Pearl City she was the daughter of Edward W. and Anna Mae (Noller) Uecker. She married Walter Spangler December 25, 1937 and he died July 13, 1992.
Surviving are 2 sons, Robert (Donna) Spangler of Freeport, Larry (Judy) Spangler of Pearl City; 1 sister-in-law, Marion Uecker of Highland; 1 grandchild, Joe Spangler; 1 great grandchild, Austin Spangler; and 1 step great grandchild, Arianna Meier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
Private services are being held. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established in her name.
