Ruth M. Toepfer 74, of Freeport died Saturday March 13, 2004 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She was born June 26, 1929 in Woodbine, IL to Clarence and O. Mae (Townsend) Busch. She married E. LeRoy Toepfer April 7, 1948 in Pearl City, he died July 29, 1987. Mrs. Toepfer worked for Micro Switch for 15 yrs before she worked as a window clerk at the Freeport Post Office where she worked for 22 yrs. retiring in 1989. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Freeport.
She is survived by 1 daughter Christine Scace of Virginia; 3 sons Gene (Dyan) Toepfer of Belvidere, Craig (Diane) Toepfer of Freeport, Neal (Julie Fleming) Toepfer of Freeport; 1 brother Bruce (Shirley) Busch of Glendale, AZ.; 7 grand children and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and one brother.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4pm until 7pm at Walker Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday March 17 at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend Robert L. Connor of Second Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
