Rydene (Dean) Kline Barrett age 93 of Freeport died at Manor Court on March 9, 2023 with his daughter by his side. He was born on April 8, 1929 at home in Oneco Township the son of James C. and Hazel Kline Barrett. He was the last surviving sibling of 13 children. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. He married Anita Joyce Hird on Nov. 12, 1950 in Freeport. She passed on August 10, 1991. Together they had four children. Kathy, Michael, Ricky and Cindy Barrett.

Dean worked at WT Rawleigh and retired from Kelly Springfield Tire.  He was a 32 ^nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite. He enjoyed living in Cedarville for many years enjoying his dogs, cats, rabbits and horses, gardening, fishing and hunting with his beagles. Dean was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubbies fan!

He is survived by his daughter Kathy Barrett, son Ricky Barrett, granddaughters, Sarah Barrett, Courtney Lestikow, Sophie Barrett and grandson, Steven Barrett and eight great Grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anita Barrett, son Michael Barrett and daughter Cindy Barrett, brothers Burrell Burdette, Gerald Hoyt, James Keith, Elbert Dyle, and Duane David Barrett; and sisters, Nechia Belle Wyatt, Genevieve Francelia Stamm, Lois Mae Ruch, Inez Eileen Ruch, Nada Mary Schiesser, Bethel Blanche Rose, and Doris Jean Garshva.

Service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday March 14, 2023 at Harmony United Methodist Church in Freeport with committal service immediately following at Chapel Hill Chapel in Freeport with Pastor Eddie Eddy officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.
