Sandra K. Sabin, 70, of Freeport, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at her home.
Born May 1, 1943 in Freeport she was the daughter of Albert and Catherine (Boos) Streicher. She was a graduate of Freeport High School. She married Charles Sabin on January 12, 1968. Sandra worked at Union Hall and Cherokee Pub as a bartender for many years. She was a member of the Freeport Moose and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her husband, Charles of Freeport; one daughter, Tammy (Francisco) Pena of Chicago; two sons, Terry (fiancee Jennifer Cassidy) Sabin of Freeport and Jerry (Stephanie Van Riper) Sabin of Lacrosse, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister Marcia DeMontigny. A gathering will be held Friday February 21, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary followed by a celebration of life service at 7 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
