Freeport – Scott T. Larson, 73, son, brother, husband and father passed away, Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in peace from kidney failure complications.  Born 1-27-1952 to Mary (Acker) Larson and Martin Renard Larson, Jr. in St Paul, MN.

IN 1974 he became an entrepreneur and began his business of Larson Roofing and Painting in Freeport, IL later named Banner Construction.  In 2023, he gave the business to his sons, Adam and Arron Larson.  He continued to work until July 2024 making his career 50 years long.

In his years he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, having exotic animals as well as being a wild game breeder and taxidermy.  He also enjoyed raising and showing fancy pigeons, birdwatching and playing cribbage with his dear friends.  He especially enjoyed gardening and sharing perennials with family and friends to color their world.  Perhaps his memory will live on in those flowers.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy, her son, Aaron (Kate) Wagner of Minnetonka, MN; Scott's ex-wife, Krys of Freeport and their sons, Adam (Shauna) Larson of Orangeville, IL and Arron (Melissa) Larson of Pearl City, IL; 2 sisters, Donna (Dennis) Kersten of Dysart, IA and Susan (Gary) Nelson of St. Charles, MN. 1 sister-in-law, Laurie Larson of Las Vegas, NV.  He was proud of his 11 grandchildren, Brian Brenner, Maddy (Ted Ils) Brenner, and baby Bo; Mari Brenner, Mason Brenner, Jack Larson, Colton Larson , Lola Larson, Zinnia Larson, Oliver Larson, Hudson Wagner and Austin Wagner as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Thomas Larson of Las Vegas, NV.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of a celebration of life, one last cribbage party will take place later, in 2025 in his honor with all friends and family.

A memorial fund has been established for Hope Wins program at Grace Episcopal church in Freeport, providing challenged children with love and care along with parental support.
