IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Scott
Reuber
September 20, 1982 – May 30, 2024
Scott Reuber, 41 of Evanston, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born in Freeport, IL on September 20th, 1982 to Colleen Hutmacher-Reuber and Todd Reuber. He attended primary school in German Valley, IL and graduated from high school in Bellevue, IA. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA.
Making people laugh was Scott's superpower. Whether it was making goofy faces and voices with his niece, Eivor, or playing the long game for an absolutely perfect burn, his humor was effortless and he could bring that joy to anyone. Scott was aggressively committed to learning new things and was a voracious reader, creator, and explorer. He was motivated by contributing to a more socially just world and advocated for others.
Scott loved nature especially hiking and biking. He was an avid reader and spent time learning to play new instruments. He also enjoyed playing video games with his sister, Leah.
Scott enjoyed speaking in movie quotes with his brother Micah, much to the frustration and confusion of their mother. Scott verbally sparred with his sister often, and because the victors write history: she was way better at it. He fiercely loved his family unconditionally. Scott was an incredible brother, son, and friend. He will be so deeply missed.
Scott had an unbreakable bond with his dog, Tilda and cat, Gracie. He was a local celebrity with park squirrels and made sure they were treated to sunflower seeds. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Scott's honor to Friends Forever Humane Society.
Scott is survived by his mother, Colleen Hutmacher-Reuber of Pecatonica, IL; father, Todd Reuber of Cherry Valley, IL; sister, Leah Reuber of Columbus, OH; niece, Eivor Reuber; sister-in-law, Nilsa Reuber; aunts, Carol (Gary) Shelly, Kathy Pruitt, Brenda (Kevin) Duitsman, and Susan (Ky) Gustafson; uncle, Greg Reuber; and his best pals, Tilda & Gracie. Scott is preceded in death by his protective big brother, Micah Reuber; grandmother, Joanne Hutmacher; grandfather, Roger Hutmacher; grandmother, Joyce Reuber; grandfather, Lyle Reuber and uncles, Greg Pruitt and Mark Reuber.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com.
