Scott James Springer 51, Freeport passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on November 28, 2012. He was born on October 3, 1961 son of Duane "Louie" and Shirley (Moist) Springer. He attended Dakota High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart Pam (Otte) on June 27, 1981. He worked at Pinkerton Security, Downing and Otte Service Station, as a self employed mechanic, Snap On Tool dealer, and at Sauer Danfoss. He enjoyed Nascar Racing (Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr), Washington Redskins, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Pam (Otte), his mother Shirley Knox, Dakota, mother in law Karen Otte, Freeport, sisters, Theresa (Gary) Levin, Ridott and Marlys (Jeff) Johnson, Pearl City, brothers, Jason (Lisa) Knox, Dakota, Jeremy (Jen)Knox, Davis, Duane Springer and his mother Sandy(special friend), Winnebago, Kenneth (Chassidy) Thruman, Warren, sisters in law, Lori (Brian) Dornink, Freeport, Terri (Dave) Finch, Davenport IA. nephews and nieces, Kurt and Karl Levin, Brittany, Hunter, Raven, Cole, and Nolan Knox, Courtney and Kelsey Smith, Kaden Springer, Scott, Jordan, Jorja Johnson, Alex and Zack Brinkmeier, Kirby (Jamie) and Kacie Dornink, Briana(Clint)Voss, MacKenzie, Jordan and Kylie Finch,.grandparents Berniece and Ransom Sargent, Bagley, WI. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and his dogs (kids) Pepper and Dakota.
He was proceeded in death by his father Duane Springer, grandparents, Kenneth and Ruth Springer, Donald Moist, and father in law Alan Otte
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freeport. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freeport.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
