Shannon V. Keister, 37, of Freeport, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at her home, after a long courageous battle with a serious illness, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born January 15, 1975 in Freeport she was the daughter of Jesse and Margie (Brick) Meier. She married Jeff A. Keister November 4, 2000.
Shannon graduated from Carthage College with degrees in Business and Spanish.
Her memberships included Immanuel Lutheran Church, Eagles Lodge, and her sorority, Kappa Chi Omega.
Shannon was a Deputy Clerk for Stephenson County.
She was blessed with many friends.
Surviving is her husband, Jeff; her parents, Jesse and Margie Meier all of Freeport; 2 brothers, Aaron Meier of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Alan Meier of Freeport; her aunts, Iva Mae (Bob) Miller of Freeport and Phyllis Fisher of Fontana, California 3 brother-in-laws, Steve (Jodi) Keister of Pecatonica; Mark (Terri) Keister of Spring Hill, Florida, and Scot Keister of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 nieces, Kaylie and Ashlyn Keister both of Baileyville.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Scott Meier.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery in Davis.
Visitation will be 4 to 7p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to "Shannon's Fight Club".
