Shirla Meinert , age 82 of Rock City, IL, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at Monroe Manor in Monroe, WI. She was born on October 26, 1935; the daughter of the late Henry and Ada Ida (Lohmeier) Pieper.

She was a 1953 graduate of Dakota High School and worked at Micro Switch until her marriage to Allen Meinert in 1959. Together they farmed north of Rock City for many years, until becoming employees at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Shirla is survived by her daughters, Jolene Meinert of Largo, FL and Kimberly Meinert and her husband Daniel Prowse of Wauwatosa, WI; two grandchildren, Leo and Clara of Wauwatosa, WI; brother, Marvin (Barb) Pieper of Orangeville, IL; and many nieces and nephews, both related and adopted.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Allen.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 18 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis Calvary United Methodist Church in Davis, IL with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Daughenbaugh Funeral Home of Dakota is assisting her family.
