Shirley M. Van Horn, 89 of Freeport passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025 at FHN Memorial Hospital.  She was born on May 4, 1935 in Dewitt, Iowa to Kenneth and Anna (Petersen) Van Horn.  She was one of four children along with her two brothers, Marvin and John "Jack" Van Horn and one sister, Annette Van Horn (White).  After High School she began work at Micro Switch Honeywell as an assembler for 38 years retiring in August of 1993.

According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a brief service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in the Chapel Of Peace on Wednesday, April 30th at 11am.
