Shirley Lawson, 79, of Omaha, formerly of Freeport and Winslow, died December 15, 2014 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Born November 21, 1935 in Stephenson County she was the daughter of Homer and Violet (Eke) VanMatre Sr. She married Arnold Lawson in 1961 and he died in 1994.
Surviving are daughters, Toni Huenefeld of Orangeville, Vicki Romero of Omaha, Nebraska, Marilyn Panco of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Lois (Ken) Curtis of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Doug Lawson of California; brother, Homer VanMatre Jr. of Freeport; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jeff and Roger Lawson; two sisters; one brother and one great grandson.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.
