Stanley R. Nied 94, of Freeport died Friday November 4, 2005 at the Provena St. Joseph Home. Born September 17, 1911 in South Bend, Ind. He was the son of Walter and Bertha Nied. He married Henrietta Bombardie on July 20, 1936 she died in 1987.
He worked for Studebaker Car Manufacturing and American General prior to his retirement in 1976.
He is survived by one son Thomas (Alice) Nied of Freeport, one daughter Donna Dipert of South Bend, Ind.; 2 grandsons Troy Nied of Wausau, WI, Sean Dipert of Niles, Mich.; 2 granddaughters Jodie Herrling of Cross Plain, WI, Carmen Koselke of South Bend, Ind. and six great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister Cleora Aichele and one brother Fred Nied.
Visitation will be from 2pm until 4pm Sunday at Walker Mortuary, Ltd. 321 W. Main St. Freeport and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home in South Bend.
Funeral service will be 10.00 a.m. Tuesday at Welsheimer Funeral Home 17033 Cleveland Rd. South Bend, Ind.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the HCC Foundation for the proposed Nursing Annex, 2998 W. Pearl City Rd. Freeport, Illinois 61032.
