Stanton L. Cary, 56 of Dakota died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home. Born February 13, 1956 in Freeport he was the son of William and Elaine (Last) Cary. He was a 1975 graduate of Winnebago High School. Stanton was a member of Rock Grove Lutheran Church prior to its closing. Surviving are four brothers Ron Pottratz of Pecatonica, Joseph (Kristine) Pottratz of Stevens Point, WI, Brandon Cary of Freeport, Wesley Cary of Oregon; two sisters Norma (Richard) Doty of Pecatonica, Linda Howard of Pecatonica; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters Candice Diestelmeier, Donna Swift. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial of remains will be at the Dakota Cemetery.
