Steven Lee Niedermeier, age 71 of Rock City, IL, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at SSM Hospice Home in Monroe, WI. He was born May 20, 1953; the son of the late Don H. and Fern (Schlueter) Niedermeier. Steven attended Dakota Schools and graduated from Freeport High School in 1973.

He farmed alongside his father until he began working for Berner Foods. He retired from Berner in 2018. Steven was a member of St. Paul Church of Epleyanna of Davis, IL. He enjoyed fishing and going to fairs and tractor pulls with his parents. He was also an avid sports fan, including local high school sports and the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his sister, Vicky Niedermeier of Freeport and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Paul Church Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
