Suzanne B. Esling, 62 of Freeport died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Born June 23, 1951 in Terry, WV she was the daughter of George L. and Mildred E. Johnson. On October 26, 1974 she and Thomas Esling were united in marriage in Freeport. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Suzanne enjoyed dancing, working in her yard, camping, cooking, taking care of her family, riding the Gold Wing with her husband Tom, listening to country music and loved her pets.
Surviving are her husband of Freeport, two daughters Theresa Timm of Forreston, Michelle Esling of Freeport; stepson Troy Esling of McConnell; two grandchildren Cameron and Courtney Timm of Forreston; two brothers John (Joan) Johnson, Al (Shirley) Johnson; one sister Mildred Veer; mother figure Nelda Thruman all of Freeport; many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are parents, half-brother Clark Mullens, nephew Scott Mullens and grandma figure Martha Stoner. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 and Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. at Walker Mortuary. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Walker Mortuary with Pastor Brian Eatock of First Church of Nazarene officiating. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
