SHANNON
Sylvia R. Grabow, 81, of Shannon, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born August 3, 1928 in Freeport she was the daughter of Leslie and Maude (Davis) Harnish. She married Roger Grabow November 17, 1946.
Sylvia worked 28 years at Micro Switch until her retirement.
She had a love of life. Sylvia enjoyed reading, cooking, and her dog. But most of all she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband, Roger of Shannon; her children, Linda (Nelson) Snavely and James (Nancy) Grabow both of Shannon, and Susan (James) Boeke of Freeport; 10 grandchildren, Troy Boeke, Brian (Carol) Boeke, Terry Grabow, Amy (Scott) Schoonhoven, Kristopher (Amber) Boeke, Naomi Grabow, Rob Wilson, Marcie (Dave) Blevins, Shawn (Mary) Wilson, and Heidi (Jon) Miller; 18 great grandchildren; special cousin, Eldora "Tazzy" (Mike) Christ; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Foxy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Virginia Whalen.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for Friends Forever Humane Society.
