Freeport – Sylvia Schrader, 72 of Freeport passed away at Walnut Acres, Freeport on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Born on November 22, 1948 to the late Eugene and Meryl (Bowen) Hamon.  After High School she married James Drake and had two sons. James died in 1976.  She raised her children while being a full time mother and housewife.  She also worked briefly as a lunch room supervisor at Empire School.  In 1980, she married Leslie Schrader.  She enjoyed cheering on her favorite team, as an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Melissa) Drake of Franklin, TN and Keith (Sharon) Drake of Freeport. She is also survived by her brother, Alan Hamon of Nekoosa, WI and her Brother-in-law, Jerry Burmeister of Belvidere, IL.  Her step children include Steve, Danny and Nicole.  In addition there are several other brother and sister-in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews.  Her legacy also includes several grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, James, her sister, Linda Burmeister, her sister-in-law Carol Hamon and her step-mother, Corrinne Hamon.

Services will take place on Saturday, October 23 ^rd with a visitation beginning at 9am and a service to immediately follow at 11am all at Walker Mortuary with Pastor Don Jamerson officiating.  Her final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
