Teresa Dawn (Missy) Strasser, 54, was born on July 23rd, 1968 in Kirksville, Missouri; the daughter of Donald Dale Baxley and Barbara Lee Baxley. With great sadness, she passed away with her family by her side on September 16th, 2022 at Advocate Lutheran Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, after months of fighting her hardest through one illness after the other.
Teresa met David Bruce Strasser in 1987, at the Safeway grocery store in Kirksville, MO. Teresa worked in a deli and Dave in produce, and they came to one day hit it off. On July 1st, 1 989, Teresa Dawn Baxley, and David Bruce Strasser officially tied the knot at the First Methodist Church in Kirksville, MO. From 1990 to 2002, Teresa and David had four amazing and beautiful kids that they could not be more grateful for and proud of. Two boys and then two girls that grew up to be each other's built-in best friends.
Teresa had a few jobs over her lifetime but for many years she was working at Cub Foods as a Customer Service Manager where she made several close friends and brightened so many people's lives. She cared hard and loved a lot, there was never a single person who was a stranger to her and she was leant on by many. It seems like she knew half of the town most of the time, and anyone she knew loved to know her. She wore her heart on her sleeve and that woman would not dare to ever rip it off. Giving us kids, husband, and anyone the world at her feet when she was given the chance.
She is survived by her husband David Bruce Strasser, two sons, Kyle Austin Strasser, and Cody James Strasser; two daughters, Brielle Alexis Strasser, and Haley Brooke Strasser; two brothers, Gary Pal Baxley, and Terry Lee Baxley; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She'd never forget all of her countless friends over the years that made her life even brighter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Lee Baxley and Donald Dale Baxley; one brother, Jerry Grant Baxley; one sister, Donna Sue Baxley; grandparents, and several other close family members. It is beyond devastating for each and every one of us to lose her so soon, but we all know, including herself, that she has had a long awaited reunion with huge open arms ready for her arrival.
We have all been completely shattered and overwhelmed in mourning at the loss of a very important woman in our lives. We do apologize to those finding out so late, something like this is never easy to write and hard to find the words. There will never be enough we could write about the phenomenal light she brought into our world. We love you forever.
