Thelma R. Shafer, 89, of Bartlett, died Friday, August 28, 2009, at Manor Court, in Freeport, Illinois.
Born April 15, 1920 in Johns Town, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Gus and Julia (Jacob) Foster. She married Raymond Shafer January 9, 1939. He died January 21, 2004.
Thelma owned The Card Shoppe in River Grove, Illinois.
Surviving are her daughters, Dawn (Lynn) Wilson of Freeport, Pam Spalding of St. Mary's, Georgia, and Julie (Thomas) Enno of Streamwood, Illinois; 1 son, Raymond (Eileen) Shafer of St. Charles, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Bill Spalding.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Thursday 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Streamwood, Illinois with Reverend Paul Cutler officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will be in Acacia Park Cemetery in Norridge, Illinois.
