Theo B. Harrenstein, age 88 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. She was born January 28, 1937 in McConnell, IL; the daughter of the late Milford and Elta (Lestikow) Stamm. She was a graduate of Forrestion High School. Theo married Lawrence Harrenstein on December 31, 1955; he passed on August 4, 2017.

She was a member of the Cedarville Emmanuel Church where she was the church secretary for 17 years, retiring in 1999. Theo enjoyed working crossword and word search puzzles as well as bird watching. Most of all she loved being a grandma to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Brian Harrenstein of Freeport; daughters, Michelle (Pat) Lafferty of Somonauk, IL and Lisa Lang of Freeport; grandchildren, Tyson (Rachel) Juergens, Tyler (Tanya) Juergens, Tyne (Chris) Mortensen, Ashley (Jared) Krusey, and Drew (Shiann) Lang; great grandchildren: Tucker, Cody, Maddox, Chase & Eliza Juergens; Hailey, Tayson & Kayla Juergens; Tristen & Abrianna Shaddix; Easton & Baylor Krusey; Di'Mya Leiser; and baby girl Lang on the way; brother, Gary Stamm; sister, Glenda Carter; and sister-in-law, Helen Stamm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Carol (Clarence) Barker, Donna (Willard) Runte, and Gayle Babcock; and brother, Laverne Stamm.

A private graveside service will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cedarville Emmanuel Church in Cedarville, IL. A memorial fund has been established for Rock River Bible Camp.
