Freeport - Theodore ("Bud") Haight, 88, of Freeport passed away peacefully at Walnut Acres on Thursday, August 10, 2023.  He was born July 19, 1935, in Freeport to Theodore and Cecelia (Meyers) Haight.  He and Harriet (Halverson) Barr were married in 1977 and together they built a life of love and laughter.  She passed away in June 2018.

Ted Haight was a machinist and set-up man at Honeywell for 37 years.  He had a keen sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

He is survived by 4 children:  Debra (Michael) Goodwin of Rockford IL; Deanna (Tom) DeBisschop of Moline IL; Darrell (Vickie) Haight of Clarksville TN; David (Dee) Haight of Thomson IL; and

7 stepchildren: Mike (Karen) Barr of Freeport IL; Kathy (Mark) Reist of Madison WI; Wendy (Russell) Fransen of St. Cloud MN; Nancy (Philip) Elmer of Freeport IL; Brian (Dawn) Barr of Shannon IL; Scott (Karla) Barr of Freeport IL; Jennifer (Kenneth) Minarik of Belvidere IL.  Preceded in death by his wife, Harriet (Barr) Haight, his youngest son, Shawn Haight, his parents, Theodore and Cecelia Haight; his sister, Jill Miles.  His legacy includes many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at 10am on Friday, August 25, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  The memorial service will immediately follow at 11am followed by a luncheon also at the church.
