Theora M. Huenefeld passed away on Saturday October 20th after a short illness. Theora was born on December 12, 1931 in Red Oak, Illinois to Ira and Mildred (Hardel) Borchardt. Theora attended Red Oak School, Orangeville High School and attended the Red Oak Methodist Church. She married Everett J. Huenefeld on April 6th, 1949 in Monroe, Wisconsin. Everett died on November 27, 1991. They were parents of four children Gary, Barb, Dave and Jon.
Theora was known for her cooking and she baked every day. She enjoyed baking and decorating Christmas cookies and all kinds of Christmas candy. Theora did laundry every day and rare would be the day that it was not hung outdoors to dry. Raising flowers and showing purebred sheep at the county fair she enjoyed as well. There was nothing that made her happier than a visit from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Theora loved everything Disney and enjoyed her vacations with family to Florida to see Disney World.
Theora is a charter member of Indian Grove Country Church.
She is survived by three children, Gary (Pam), Dave (Chris) and Jon (Bonnie) along with seven grandchildren Michael, Steven, Matthew, Aaron, Eric (Crystal), Emily (Eric) and Ella. In addition to two great grandchildren Caiden and Charlotte. In addition she is survived by four sister-in-laws Carol Borchardt, Betty Huenefeld, Reta Huenefeld and Marge Bamberg along with many nieces and nephews.
Theora was preceded in death by her husband, parents, mother and father-in law Jerome and Rose Marguerite Huenefeld, daughter Barb Heywood, and two grandsons Jeff and Kyle Huenefeld. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers Lois Short and Gayle Lobdell, Jack and Loren Borchardt. Her brother and sister in-laws Bob Lobdell, Freemont Short, Fritz Huenefeld, Joe and Livina Huenefeld, Bob Huenefeld, Jerry Bamberg, Lester and June Matter, Bob and Geraldine Asche and Francis Brinkmeier.
The family is honoring Theora's request for a private immediate family only service. The family is inviting all extended family and friends to an informal gathering at the Indian Grove Country Church, Rock City, Illinois from 5-7 PM on Friday October 26th.
A memorial has been established in her name.
