Thomas "Turkey" Boan, 80, of Ridott died Thursday February 10, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital Freeport. Born August 13, 1930 in Elgin, he was the son of Thomas II and Helen Boan. He and Carol Ward were united in marriage on May 15, 1981. He was a veteran of U.S. Army. He worked for Artistic Carton Co in Elgin, Bucks Mill in Davis and enjoyed woodworking. Tom enjoyed life, liked playing jokes, making things for people and just spending time with people. Surviving are his wife of Ridott; 5 sons Tom (Bonnie) Boan of Sycamore, Dean (Pam) Boan of Marion, Jeff Boan of Marion, Patrick (Jennifer) Lyons of Thornton, CO, Richard (Debbie) Lyons of S.C.; one daughter Jennifer (Tom) Dailey of Morrison, CO; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; one brother George (Wanda) Boan of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother Bill, one sister Peg and infant son James.
