Thomas G. Butler III, 56, of Rockford, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his home. Born February 26, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana he was the son of Thomas G. and Harriet R. (Burdette) Butler, Jr.
Tom was a salesman at Napleton Auto Werks in Rockford. He loved talking about cars so he really enjoyed his job.
An avid cook he enjoyed cook outs with his friends and family. His nieces and nephews were the world to him.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Colleen (Scott) Anderson and Bridget (Gary) Madison both of Freeport; 1 brother, Shawn P. (Brenda) Butler of Rockford; nieces and nephews, Eric Madison, Jon (Wendy) Madison, Elizabeth Madison, Katherine (Berin) Jackson, Ian and Heather Anderson; 1 great nephew, Brayden Jackson; numerous cousins; his dear friends, John and Pam Symington and Jim and Heather Snow all of Rockford; and his beloved dog, Chewey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Kevin; and nieces, Kristen and Hillary Anderson.
