Thomas E. Forrester Sr., 83 of Freeport died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.
Born July 18, 1930 in Johnson City, he was the son of Cecil Sr. and Cecil M. (Treece) Forrester.
On November 20, 1948 he and Katherine L. Miller were united in marriage.
Tom worked in the printing industry in Chicago until 1968. He was a graduate of The Moody Bible Institute in 1969 and became a Baptist Minister. He locally pastored the Calvary Baptist Church in Freeport and retired in 1990, but never quite preaching. He was a member of the Cedarville Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and stock car racing.
Surviving are his wife Katherine, two children Terry (Sharon) Forrester, Michael (Karen) Forrester all of Freeport ; one daughter-in-law Cindy Forrester of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brother Wayne Forrester of Chicago; sister Virginia Ferguson of Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, one son Thomas Jr., two brothers, Cecil Jr., Clifford, two sisters Dorothy and Cleoria.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013 at Cedarville Baptist Church, Cedarville with Reverend Gene McIntosh officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Church.
Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Freeport.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
