Freeport – Thomas D. Griffith, 79 of Freeport passed away at Mercy Health in Rockford, Illinois on April 3, 2025.  He was born on September 10, 1945 in Lima, Ohio to John and Ruth (Davis) Griffith.  He married, Ann McKibben on September 9, 1978.

Tom was a member of Zion Church of Freeport.  He had a great sense of humor and he loved being with his family and friends at church.  His fur babies were very special to him. He loved to go for long car rides with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of Freeport; his son, Thomas D. (Laura Jo) Griffith of Schertz, TX; Grandsons, Jacob (Megan) Griffith and daughter, Olivia Griffith of University City, TX; Michael Griffith of Lindale, TX; a sister, Linda Burden of Lima, OH; a niece and a nephew as well as a brother-in-law, Gerald (Jan Podoll) McKibben of Denver, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his Aunts and Uncles.

There will be a service on Thursday, April 10 at Zion Church of Freeport.  The visitation will begin at 10am and a service will follow at 11am.  His final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been designated in his name for the All Veterans Memorial Park in Freeport, Il.   Military Rites will be given at the cemetery by the Air Force and the local Vietnow coalition of Freeport.
