Thomas R. Kauffman, 67, of Davis died suddenly Friday, December 28, 2012, at his home.
Born December 8, 1945 in Lena, he was the son of Jack Dunn (Geraldine Marie Taylor) Kauffman. He married Nancy J. Steinberg September 1, 1968 who passed away January 1, 2012.
Tom was a 1964 graduate of Lena High School. After completing two years of technical school he was a Service Technician for AM Multigraphics servicing the Rockford area for over 30 years.
Tom was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was an active member of Durand United Methodist Church and recently joined the Loyal Order of Eagles. Tom was a founding member of both the Lake Summerset Monday Night Football Club and the Brew Crew. He enjoyed snowmobiling, ATVing, boating, and traveling.
Tommy was a great fan of sports, especially the Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago Bears, and Dakota Indian football.
He was a generous person whose greatest joy was to be with family and friends, enjoying life to the fullest. Tom's infectious joy and spirit lit up every room he entered.
Surviving are three children, Kim (Brad Kluesner) Menke of Roscoe, Kalli (Doug) Loversky of Oxnard, CA, and Britton (Katie) Kauffman of Davis; former son-in-law Mike Menke of Roscoe; six grandchildren, Ellyn and Carson Menke, Dani and Christian Loversky, and Tyler and Hannah Kauffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2012, at Durand United Methodist Church.
There will be a visitation and fellowship time following the memorial service from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
