Thomas Jon Rosengren , age 86 of Wilmette, IL, passed away at home on Friday, August 12, 2022. He was born April 28, 1936 in Kenosha, WI; to the late Theodore and Christine (Rectoris) Rosengren. He graduated from Kenosha High School with the class of 1953. Thomas served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1958.

He went on to the University of Illinois and in 1963 he received his Bachelors Degree in Architecture. In 1965 he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with his Masters of Architecture & Urban Planning.

Tom and Fredericka McNess were united in marriage on June 15, 1969. He was Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois and Associate Partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). He was also Designer and Owner of Techline Furniture & Cabinetry and Independent Architect of Custom Residences

Tom was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Evanston, IL. He enjoyed playing the piano and landscaping. Tom was an extremely bright, gifted, and creative architect. He was also home and family focused as well as very generous with his loved ones. He loved sharing stories about his many worldly adventures and life's experiences or interests. He worked very hard to provide beautifully for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Fredericka Rosengren of Wilmette, IL; children, Erik (Amanda) Rosengren of Evanston, IL, Mark Rosengren of Highland Park, IL, Kristin (Alan) Moran or Portland, OR, and Theo (Laura) Rosengren of Chilliwack, British Columbia; 6 granddaughters; and sister, Judith McEvoy of Evanston, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore & Christine (Rectoris) Rosengren; and brother, Theodore Rosengren.

Cremation rites are being accorded. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Evanston, IL. Interment will take place at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, IL. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com.
