Freeport- Donald R. Thompson 103, of Freeport died Monday March 26, 2007 at the Manor Court at Liberty Village. Born May 23, 1903 in Argyle, WI he was the son of Frank and Frances (Jackson) Thompson. He married Frances M. Michel November 24, 1927 at Freeport. For forty years he was a compositor in the printing department at W.T. Rawleigh Co retiring in 1966. Mr. Thompson was on the very first Board of Directors for the Community Chest in 1950, former president of Printing Pressman Union, and former financial secretary of the Central Labor Union. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport.
He is survived by his Daughter Jewel Thompson of Freeport and family friend Lee Thomasson of Freeport.
Preceding him in death are his wife, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be 12 noon until the time of service Wednesday at Walker Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Walker Mortuary with Father Burt Absalon of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Freeport.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
