Obituary

Freeport: Tommy G. Taft, 62 of Freeport died Saturday October 15, 2005 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born July 4, 1943 in Monroe, WI. He was the son of Lawrence "Shorty" and Sophia (Reinmann) Taft. On December 14, 1963 he married Joan Pickett in Browntown, WI. He owned and operated Tom Taft Pump Sales in Orangeville for many years and then worked as a salesman for Freeport Supply Co. and then as a sales consultant for Milwaukee Stove Supply Company until his death. Tommy was an Air Force Veteran a member of the Orangeville I.O.O.F., Freeport Eagles Club, A.T.A. and the South Wayne Blackhawk Sportsman Club. Surviving is his wife Joan, one son Mark (Lisa) Taft of Gratiot, WI., one daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Hanson of Knoxville, Tenn. four grandchildren, Cody and Willy Taft of Gatiot and Karissa and Keaton Hanson of Knoxville. Four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Alka Lyall officiating. Burial and Committal service will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe WI. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary. A memorial has been established in his name.
