Travis John Bird, 38, of rural Freeport went to be with the Lord Friday September 23, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born on January 23, 1973 in Freeport he was the son of Arthur and Myrna (Harnish) Bird. Travis graduated in 1991 from Freeport High School and then automotive school at Highland Community College. On September 14, 1996 he and Kelly Anderson were united in marriage. He worked several years at Fairway Ford and at Peabudy North in Pecatonica for the past three years. He was an avid Blackhawks, Bears and Cubs fan and had a love for cars and his family and friends. He was a member of the Freeport Eagles Club, Ducks Unlimited. Surviving are his parents Arthur and Myrna Bird of Freeport, wife Kelly of Freeport, two daughters Jessica and Isabella Bird of Freeport; sister Nicole (Toby) Shere of Freeport; Mother and step father-in-law Rose and Todd Meyers of Freeport; Father and Step mother-in-law Brian and Michelle Jones of Oakland, TN, brothers-in-law Billy (Emily) Mullarkey of Freeport, Michael (Diana) Mullarkey of Adeline; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, great aunts Arvilla Hicks and Vada Jones.
