Lena- Trina S. Farel, 51 of Lena died Saturday December 4, 2010 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. Born December 13, 1958 in Belvidere she was the daughter of Robert Shacklee and Shirley (Loumis) Rucker. She was a 1977 graduate of Marengo High School and continued schooling most of her adult life, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and working in the medical field for over 25years. On January 17, 1981 she and Steve Farel were united in marriage in McHenry County. Trina enjoyed working in her flower gardens, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her husband Steve of Lena, two sons Nick (Katie) Brown of Belvidere, Steven Keith Christian Farel of Lanark; daughter Ashley Farel of Rockford; 7 grandchildren Erinna, Ericka, Janell, Teaghan, Alayna, Anna, Jasmine Marie; her father Robert of Rockford, three brothers Ron (Cyndi) Shacklee of Marengo, Scott Shacklee of Belvidere, Jim (Cyndee) Shacklee of Belvidere; two sisters Robin Shacklee of TN., Harriet (Mike) Cavin of Hebron; lifelong friend Nora Stauber of Marengo; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, stepfather and infant son Cory Joe.
