Trudy J. Shelton, age 70 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was born April 18, 1949 to Herbert and Alma (Harris) DeHoet. She received her high school diploma from Evans Community College. Trudy married Jerry Shelton on January 29, 1965.

She was a homemaker, raising her family with love and care. She was also a devote Christian with a strong faith and was a member of Grace Chapel Christian Church in Washington. She even attended services via phone once she was unable to attend in person. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and playing games on her Kindle, especially spider solitaire. God and Family were everything to her.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Shelton of Freeport; children, Michelle (Duane) Johnson of Salem, VA; Jerry (Melissa) Shelton, Jr. of Sunny Side, VA; Jenny (Matt) Mannino of Freeport; and Cairn Shelton of Boone, IA; 16 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; and sisters, Sharon Townsend of Naches, WA and Nancy Scott of Port Orchid, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tina; and nephew, Lenny.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Her family will be taking her home to Ocean Shores, WA which was her favorite place. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
