Valerie B. Cannon

Valerie B. Cannon, age 54 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Javon Bae Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born October 3, 1971 to Ronald and Susan (Finifrock) Boldt in Freeport, IL. She was a 1989 graduate of Freeport High School and went on to attend Highland Community College. Valerie married Richard Cannon on June 10, 1995.

She enjoyed caring for individuals with special needs at Milestone and was Activity Director at St. Francis. She also did bookkeeping for Adept Inc. Valerie was a member of Faith Life Fellowship Church. She loved cooking, entertaining, gardening, traveling, and animals.

She is survived by her mother, Susan (Daniel) Finifrock of Freeport; son, Jayden Cannon of Dixon, IL; Brothers, Eric (Kelly) Boldt of Indianapolis, IN, Bryan (Shirley) Finifrock of Freeport; Sister, Jennifer (Roy) Rhodes of Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Boldt and her grandparents, Orville (Esther) Boldt, Dale (Lois) Schultz, and Jean Frinifrock.

Per Valeries request she did not desire a public funeral service or celebration of life event. There will be a private memorial service at Faith Life Fellowship Church on May 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. for the family and close friends.
