Freeport- Vaughn M. Kloepping, 74 of Freeport passed away at home with his family by his side, on December 15, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1948 in Brodhead WI, to the late Glen and Morna (Davis) Kloepping. He attended both Warren and Dakota schools. He was a veteran of the Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He was very proud of his military service to our nation. He married Rosemary Longshore on September 30, 1972 and together they raised a family.
He enjoyed many things. He played on several different pool leagues and hundreds of pool tournaments over his life time, making friends everywhere he went. He loved watching any sport on T.V. but was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was a member of Freeport First Free Methodist Church where he loved to be with his church family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary of Freeport, His daughter Rachel Rhymer of Freeport and his son, Gregory (Jen Schultz-fiancé) of Tuscon, Az. His brothers James (Lynn) Kloepping of Freeport; Dennis (Sue) Kloepping of Freeport and Roger (Vicki) Kloepping of Kent. He was a strong father "papa" figure to many people including a nephew Todd Saxby of Freeport, a niece Tonya (Todd)Saxby- Penniston of Freeport, a granddaughter Mariah Endress of Freeport, all of which he helped raise. His life was also filled with many nieces and nephews and 14 grandchildren who filled his life with joy. His border collie Tilly, was his forever companion.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers, Arvid and Gerald (Charlotte) Kloepping, and a sister, Karen Lancaster, as well as his niece Velvette Lancaster.
There will be a visitation, Tuesday, December 20 th from 4-7 pm at First Free Methodist church, Freeport. The service will be on Wednesday, December 21 st at 10:30 am also at First Free Methodist. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
