Rockford- Vaughn F. Ufken, 72 of Loves Park formerly of Rock City died Monday October 5, 2009 at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford. Born November 24, 1936 in Freeport she was the daughter of Earl C. and Helen (Neilson) Wilson. Vaughn enjoyed bowling and crocheting.
She and Eugene Ufken were married November 19, 1955 at Rock City. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1970.
Surviving are daughter Brenda (Steve) Enderle of Rockford; granddaughter Megan (Brian) Jaworowski of Rockford; grandson Steven Enderle of Rockford; friend Mike VanderPal of Loves Park; sister Janet Johnson of Rockford; brother Ronald (Joy) Wilson of San Diego, Ca.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and son Thomas on September 25, 2009 and brother Earl Wilson Jr.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial service will be held Saturday October 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. for Vaughn and her son Thomas with the Rev. Debra Tinsley Taylor of Centennial United Methodist Church officiating at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota. A gathering will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
Burial of cremated remains will take place in the Dakota Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in their names.
