Velma Irene Pogany McIlvanie, 83 of Freeport passed away Tuesday November 9, 2010 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport . Born January 19, 1927 in Cresent , OH she was the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Nagy) Pogany. She graduated High School in Isabel , SD. On September 10, 1946 she and Alton McIlvanie were united in marriage he preceded her in death in 1963. Velma enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her family and was a member of East Gate Church in Freeport . Surviving are three daughters Angela (Dave) Scheidschlag of Englewood, FL, Susan (John) DiGiovanni of Freeport, Lauri (Todd) Swalve of Freeport; son Alton Joseph (Sue) McIlvanie of Freeport; 5 grandchildren Tina (Tom) Hutmacher Council, David (Tammy) McIlvanie, Robert (Kathryn) McIlvanie, Kathy DiGiovanni, Kurt Swalve; 7 great grandchildren Gabrielle McIlvanie, Quinn McIlvanie, Lilliana McIlvanie,Skylar McIlvanie, Joshua Beightol, Katelyn Koett, Nolan Swalve; one brother Zoltan "Sully" (Helen) Pogany of FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alton , 5 brothers William, Charles, Earnest, Paul and Joseph Pogany; 2 sisters Edith and Caroline Pogany.
