Freeport-Verle C. Niesman Sr., 73, of Freeport, died Sunday, November 30, 2003, at Freeport Memorial Hospital.
Born October 25, 1930 in McConnell he was the son of Roy and Marjorie (Larrow) Niesman. He married Charlotte M. Krull June 30, 1951.
He was a cheese maker for 18 years, then a truck driver for Bennett & Hoefer and Kent Cheese, and then was a local farmer.
A Korean War veteran his memberships included, St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pearl City, Loyal Order of the Moose, Eagles, and for 16 years the Freeport Police Auxiliary.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte of Freeport; two daughters, Marilyn M. Niesman of Waunakee, WI and Teresa L. (Barry) Engebretson of Pearl City; two sons, Verle C. (Audrey) Niesman Jr. of Lena and Gordon L. Niesman of Pearl City; one sister, Twila Simler of Pearl City; one brother, John (Charmaine) Niesman of West Palm Beach, Fl; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and step-great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; one sister; four brothers;
Funeral service will be Wednesday 1:30 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pearl City with Reverend Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary where at 8 p.m. there will be a memorial service conducted by the Loyal Order of the Moose Ritual Staff .
