Vernon W. Kuhlemeier Jr., age 56 of Clermont, FL, formally of Afolkey IL., passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from complications of Covid at the Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont FL.
Born November 30, 1964 in Freeport, IL he was the son of Vernon W. Kuhlemeier Sr and Marjorie Wilkens (Meinert). He was a 1983 graduate of Orangeville High School. Vernon married Susan Fink on September 21, 1985 at Cedarville United Methodist Church. Over his lifetime, Vernon worked at A & W Drive Inn, Thermos Co, Kelly Springfield Tire, Newell, and Piedmont Hardware Brands in Freeport.
At a young age Vernon's grandmother, Marie, started taking him to Chicago Cub games. That was just the beginning of his love for the game and loyalty to the Cubs for many years to come. Vernon loved to watch every game poolside with a cigar in hand and his beloved dog Boss by his side. Vernon was also a diehard Dale Earnhardt Sr fan, collector, and enjoyed going to car shows with his dad. He was a huge family man and loved spending time with his family and friends. Vernon also had many fond memories of coaching his three children in sports throughout their school careers. He was a very fun loving and social person, making sure he always put a smile on everyone's face and was definitely the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Kuhlemeier of Clermont, FL; children, Amy (Vaughn) Piske of Clermont FL, Vernon Kuhlemeier III (Mya Holland) of Mascotte FL who are expecting in October and Ryan Kuhlemeier (Rakasha Mcintosh) of Clermont FL; grandchildren, Liam and Boston Piske of Clermont FL; mother, Marjorie (Geno) Wilkens of Freeport IL; stepmother, Sharon Kuhlemeier of Freeport IL; sister, Dawn (Rick) Miller of Freeport IL; Also his step brother, Terry (Libby) Cabot of Markesan, WI; step sisters, Tina (John) Chamberlin of Freeport, Teresa Simmons of Freeport; brother-in-law, Allen Fink of Mississippi; uncles, Gary "Fritz" (Dianne) Meinert of Rock City IL and Steve (Marsha) Meinert of New Berlin WI; special great uncle and aunt, Chuck (Deborah) Grunder; aunts, Joann Julius of Texas, Dee (Jerry) Edler of Freeport, Nancy (Randy) Baker of Freeport, Becky (Tom) Becker of Janesville, WI, Suzie (Martin) Keller of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandmothers, Marie Johnson and Leona Kuhlemeier, grandfathers, Clement (Demps) Meinert, Elmer Johnson, Vernon T. Kuhlemeier, mother and father-in-law Robert and Aileen Fink, sister-in-law Pamela Fink.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Vernon's life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 1 pm - 4 pm at Grand River Hall in Freeport, IL. A memorial has been established in his name. Condolences may be sent to the family at 14322 Pine Cone Trail Clermont, FL 34711.
