Victor Gladkin, 55, of Elgin, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at his home in Elgin.
Born May 5, 1957 in Chicago he was the son of Nikolai and Antonina (Duchina) Gladkin. Victor was a graduate of Dakota High School in 1975 and the University of Illinois Chicago. He worked as a Chemist in Forensic Science. He loved his cat Musik, dog Andrei and the outdoors. He married Junko Nishio on May 16, 2008 at Elgin.
Surviving are his wife Junko of Elgin, two brothers, Peter (Victoria) Gladkin of Palm Springs, CA, Vladimir"Walter" (Gayle) Gladkin of Davis; Mother-in-law Ikuko Nishio of Huntley; sisters-in-laws Chie Santos of Gurnee, and Mitsuko (Luke) Huber of Fl.; severalnieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, February 8, 2013 4:30 until 7:30pm followed by Pannikhida service at 7:30 pm. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Vladmir Russian Orthodox Church at Lost Lake with Father Andre Papkov officiating. Burial will be at the Rock City Cemetery.
