Obituary

Freeport: Vivian P. Greenley, 85, died November 23, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph's Home in Freeport. Born August 11, 1923 in Cleveland, OH. She was the daughter of Jesse R. & Anna (Franke) Parsh. She married Wayne A. Greenley February 8, 1945 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death in March of 1993. Vivian served her country in the U.S. Navy from September of 1943 until she was honorably discharged in May of 1945 with a rank of Specialist Third Class. She was a bookkeeper retiring in 1987. During her retirement she did volunteer work in the office at the Meadow Ridge Apartments. Surviving are her daughter, Gail Veesenmeyer of South Sioux City, Neb; three grand daughters, Yvonne (Doug) Ellinger of Dana Point, California, Stacy Kinney of Freeport and Amanda (Sean) Patterson of Duarte, Cal.; Three great grandsons, James and Lucas Ellinger and Brodie Lusson and one great granddaughter, Brynn Lusson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers and one daughter Dianna Lynne Lusson. Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be no service or visitation. Burial of her cremated remains will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. A memorial has been established in her name for the American Cancer society.
