Freeport-Walter W. Weier, 90, of Freeport, died Sunday September 28, 2003, at Freeport Memorial Hospital.
Born August 26, 1913 in Freeport he was the son of Henry and Wilemina (Jonas) Weier.
He married Emma M. Ruthe April 27, 1935 in Galena.
He worked at Modern Plating for 37 years retiring in 1977. He then worked for the Stephenson County Senior Center.
He was one of the oldest life time members of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Freeport.
Surviving are his wife, Emma; one son, Wayne (Nancy) Weier; one daughter, Jacklyn (Robert) Magee all of Freeport; ten grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; 1 sister; 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral service will be Thursday 1 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Lyle Babcock of Richland Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
