Wanita J. Imel, 68, of Freeport died Sunday May 20, 2007 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Born March 16, 1939 in Eagan she was the daughter of Petrus and Erma (Thorn) Konstant. She was a graduate of Freeport High in 1957.
She and Clarence E. Imel were married August 2, 1974 in Freeport he died in 1986. She was an accounting analyst at Crum & Forster. An active member of Zion Church she was involved with the Ladies Aid and Naomi Group and Treasure of the Christian Women's Club for 3 yrs.
She is survived by one daughter Erma (Scott) Maves of Mahomet; two grandsons, Nathaniel and Coleman Maves both of Mahomet; sister Carol (Nelson) Robieson; brother John Konstant both of Freeport; 2 step sisters Carolyn (Harvey) Ostergard of Davis, Bonnie (David) Stephens of Freeport; one step brother John Geiken of Freeport.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm Wednesday at Walker Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Thursday at the Zion Church with Pastor Gardy Cronk officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairhaven Cemetery in Fairhaven.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Zion Church.
