Freeport
Wayne E. Craig, 80, of Freeport, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016, after a short illness, surrounded by his family.
Born February 1, 1935 in Seward he was the son of Kenneth B. and Florence P. (Swartz) Craig. He married Judith E. Boyer in London England on April 11, 1957 and she died October 1, 1980. He married Lydia L. (Schmoll) Janssen on August 18, 1983.
He was a graduate of Dakota High School. He was a Korean U.S. Navy veteran.
An avid former member of the Moose Lodge he enjoyed playing Horse Shoes, Darts, and Euchre.
Wayne worked for area companies, Farmers, and Freeport Industrial Roofing.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia of Freeport; his children, Kelly (William) Monigold of Freeport. Wendy Monigold and Beth Bechtolt both of Monroe, Wisconsin, David (Lisa) Craig of Stockton; six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Schock of Seward and Linda (Gale) Wilhelms of Ridott; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Craig of Ridott; his step-daughter, Nancy (Richard) Geiser of Freeport; his step-son, Gary (Judy) Janssen of Freeport; several step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; infant brother; brother, Allen; granddaughter, Angela Monigold; son-in-law, Andrew Monigold; step-daughter, Debbie Janssen.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial gardens.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Walker Mortuary.
