Obituary

Wayne E. Fogel, 93, of Freeport, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Freeport Rehabilitation & Care Center.
Born November 23, 1915 in Freeport he was the son of Harry and Bethel (Pepperman) Fogel. He married Caroline Haight October 17, 1936.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during World War II
His memberships included First Church Of The Open Bible where he was a past board member, past president and substitute teacher for the church's MOVE Men's Group, Evergreen Masonic Lodge, Tebala Shrine, and AMVETS where he was a past commander
Wayne worked at the Henny Motor Company for many years, and then Micro Switch until his retirement.
In retirement he was a cook the Open Bible Day Care and owned and operated The Sharp Shop in his home.
Wayne built his own home which he lived for over 65 years.
Surviving are his wife, Caroline of Freeport; 1 daughter, Sherrill (John) Bruning of Winnebago; 1 son, Wayne M. (Teresa) Fogel of Pearl City; 1 sister, Alice Pickett of DeKalb; 1 brother, Richard Fogel of DeKalb; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Lyle and Paul; his infant daughter, Caroline; and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 2 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Burliss Parker of First Church Of The Open Bible officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
